Almanac Barcelona announces the appointment of Alexandre de Noronha Dzelme as Director of Sales & Marketing for the 91-room hotel located at Gran Via de los Corte Catalunes in the heart of the Catalan capital. In his new position, Mr. Dzelme is responsible for the hotel's annual marketing strategy, sales initiatives for transient and corporate business, as well as the development of the M.I.C.E (Meetings and Incentives) market.

A native of Brazil, Mr. Dzelme studied Business and Hotel Management at the Universidade Estácio de Sá in Rio de Janeiro. He is fluent in six languages including Portuguese, Spanish, Catalan, English, French and Hebrew. Prior to joining Almanac Barcelona, he served as Director of Sales for Hotel Casa Fuster, a Leading Hotels of the World property in Barcelona. This followed a prestigious consultancy to the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism with a focus on driving Spanish and Portuguese business into Brazil. Mr. Dzelme has held key sales and marketing positions at AC Hotels by Marriott (90 hotels in Spain, Portugal and Italy), the Autograph Collection Spain and individual hotels including Melia's Reina Victoria in Madrid as well as at the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I, the Hotel Balmoral and El Palace, all in Barcelona.

Almanac Barcelona opened in February 2018, the first hotel of the new Almanac brand. Just steps from Passeig de Gracia, where guests find some of Barcelona's best shopping, restaurants, bars and museums, the hotel features a distinctive rooftop pool, bar and lounge called Azimuth and a Mediterranean brasserie called Linia, offering signature Catalan dishes and a sharing menu where both locals and travelers gravitate.
