Ahmed Kamel has been appointed as the hotel manager of InterContinental Cairo Citystars.

With over 24 years of experience in the hospitality sector, Kamel has held leadership roles at luxury hotel brands across major cities, including Dubai, Doha, Hong Kong and Makkah.

Before this role, Kamel was part of leadership teams at InterContinental Doha The City, Crowne Plaza Dubai SZR, Crowne Plaza & Staybridge Suites Yas Island and Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi. He has also played a key role in brand standard validation for IHG's corporate office in Dubai, contributing to quality assurance across the IMEA region.

In Makkah he oversaw operations for a semi-government entity and led the pre-opening of a highly anticipated hotel and residence in Abu Dhabi, managed by the National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels (NCTH).

Kamel's educational background includes a bachelor's degree and an MBA in hotel management, as well as international relations and diplomacy. Additionally, his leadership extends beyond his operational roles, having founded the national chapter of the AICR Organisation in the GCC and receiving a global leadership award.

As general manager, Kamel plans to enhance the guest experience at InterContinental Cairo Citystars, focusing on innovation, service excellence, and maintaining the hotel's reputation as a top destination in Cairo.
