Originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Zach's upbringing on a working farm sparked his passion for the outdoors and cultivated a creativity born out of necessity. However, it was his tenure as Creative Director for the Charleston Wine + Food Festival that truly solidified his love for the hospitality industry and set the stage for his future career. For the past decade, Norris served as Director and Client Liaison at Bourne Group International, a design-build signage company serving the global cruise industry. In this role, he managed a diverse range of projects for high-profile clients, leading teams through every phase of product design, fabrication, and international logistics.
While managing large-scale, global projects was both challenging and rewarding, Zach felt a growing desire to channel his expertise into crafting memorable guest experiences and making a more direct impact on hospitality. At Avocet Hospitality, he will focus on strengthening Avocet's brand presence, developing innovative marketing strategies, and driving guest engagement across both traditional and digital channels. He will work closely with the leadership team to further refine the company's marketing direction and ensure that the Avocet brand resonates deeply with its guests.
