Ignacio de las Cuevas has been appointed Partner at RLA Global in Tarragona, Spain
Leading hospitality advisory firm RLA Global is pleased to announce the appointment of Ignacio de las Cuevas as Partner, effective as of February 1, 2025.
In his new role, Mr. de las Cuevas will be responsible for driving innovation and sustainable growth across RLA Global's worldwide operations. He brings over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, destination development, international cooperation and digital transformation, with a particular expertise in sustainable tourism strategies and circular economy applications.
Mr. de las Cuevas joins RLA Global from his position as Principal at Andart Global in Dubai, where he provided strategic counsel to governments, corporations, and high-profile individuals. Previously, as Director of Eurecat's Centre of Excellence in Tourism Innovation, he successfully led multi-stakeholder projects that transformed technological innovation into practical industry solutions. His career includes a role at the reputable Swiss NGO, Swisscontact, where he served as Head of the Hotel Training Initiative, delivering tailored training and boosting job employability for over 3,000 disadvantaged people across Myanmar.
Mr. de las Cuevas holds a Master's and a PhD in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva, Switzerland, and a Bachelor's in Tourism Management from URV, Spain. He is a certified trainer with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and serves as faculty for the pioneering Bachelor's programme in International Sustainable Tourism at UN Tourism and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. He is also a member of the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Tourism WestMED.
