Ruby Group is pleased to announce that Jens Gmiat is returning as Chief Operating Officer. In Ruby Group's early years, Gmiat played a pivotal role in building the organisation's operational and commercial foundation. He now returns to support the company's next strategic growth phase, particularly in light of Ruby Group's recently announced partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts. In his new role, Gmiat will be responsible for all operational, commercial and HR/People & Culture domains. During the maternity leave of Danielle Boeken, Senior Vice President Commercial, he will also take direct charge of the commercial division, with the various commercial departments reporting directly to him.
With over 30 years of experience in the international hospitality sector, Gmiat brings deep operational and commercial expertise to Ruby Group. His career includes senior positions at renowned European hotel groups such as Soho House and Zoku, and most recently at HotelCo51, one of Marriott's largest franchise partners, where he was responsible for a portfolio of over 40 hotels. Prior to rejoining Ruby Group, Gmiat was Head of Operations at Criterion Hospitality in London, where he led both the Zedwell Hotels own brand and the IHG franchise business.
Ruby Group now consists of 20 legal entities in 10 countries, and this number continues to grow. At the same time, the senior management structure is also being expanded. In addition to Gmiat, Fabian Zellinger, Chief Growth & Innovation Officer (CGIO), and Martin Zilkens, Senior Vice President Finance & Controlling, will join Michael Struck as managing directors of Ruby Group.
Under the leadership of Michael Struck, Ruby Group continues to redefine the modern hotel experience through its Lean Luxury philosophy: a combination of contemporary design, high-quality service and prime urban locations, supported by an efficient, technology-driven organizational model.
