The Accessible Hospitality Alliance (aha) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Maley to its Advisory Board, bringing a global perspective shaped by decades of design and commercial leadership in the worlds of healthcare and hospitality.
Maley began his career in the design and manufacture of orthotics and prosthetics for children, a formative experience that instilled a lifelong commitment to understanding disability not just through data, but through lived experience. The belief that understanding is the first step to removing stigma, has guided him across a career that spans continents and some of the world's largest hospitality and healthcare organisations.
With a deep-rooted understanding of inclusive design, Maley led international teams at HEWI, the global specialist in system solutions for accessibility across the hospitality and healthcare sectors. Today, he continues his mission through an independent consultancy, providing sector-leading advice and compliance support to organisations seeking to embed accessibility at every level.
Maley joins the Advisory Board at a pivotal time, as momentum builds around the aha's campaign to improve access, employment, and experience across hospitality. His insight will support the Alliance's work in turning best practice into standard practice, building a hospitality world that ensures no one is not welcome.
