Mercure Muscat has announced the promotion of Mahmoud Said to executive assistant manager (EAM) - in charge of finance. The move reflects Said's long-standing track record within the Accor network, with over 16 years of experience in hospitality finance, leadership, and operational optimisation.
Said first joined Accor in 2009 as a restaurant auditor at Mövenpick Resort Taba in Egypt, where he laid the foundation for a career defined by financial stewardship and steady progression. Over the years, he has held several key roles across the group's properties in Egypt and Oman, honing his expertise in cost control, compliance, and strategic planning.
In 2016, he moved to Mercure Sohar, taking on a multi-faceted role as accounts payable supervisor, paymaster, and cost controller. His efforts to streamline financial operations and implement robust cost-control mechanisms earned him recognition, eventually leading to his appointment as chief accountant at Ibis Muscat.
Following this, Said was promoted to financial controller, overseeing cross-functional finance teams, enhancing system efficiencies, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Most recently, he served as finance manager at The Ascott Limited, bringing additional value through solid fiscal management and a collaborative leadership style.
His promotion is part of Accor's ongoing commitment to talent development and internal growth, reinforcing its focus on recognising individuals who reflect the group's values of excellence, innovation, and integrity.
