Fairmont Breakers Long Beach is pleased to announce the appointment of André Brose as general manager of the landmark hotel located in the heart of downtown Long Beach, California. An accomplished international hotelier with 25 years of hospitality experience, Brose brings a deep understanding of operations, leadership, and exceptional guest service. He steps into this role following the property's multi-million-dollar transformation, which marked the celebrated return of one of California's most historic hotels.
Growing up in Germany, Brose developed a passion for hospitality early and began his career in the food and beverage sector at Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin, followed by front office and leadership positions at Le Royal Méridien Hamburg. His expertise in both the food and beverage and lodging divisions has proven instrumental in curating exceptional guest services, supported by high-performing teams. Brose's career has taken him to global destinations across Europe and North America with various executive roles at luxury hotels, including Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa Edinburgh, The St. Regis San Francisco, and The West Hollywood EDITION.
Prior to joining the property, Brose served as general manager at Lido House, an Autograph Collection Hotel in Newport Beach. His hands-on approach and strategic involvement contributed to the hotel earning numerous accolades, notably a coveted Four Diamond designation, recognition in Tales of the Cocktail's "Best Hotel Bars," and the #1 hotel ranking in Newport Beach by U.S. News & World Report. A two-time recipient of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts President's Award, Brose is known for his leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Brose brings a wealth of knowledge to Fairmont Breakers Long Beach during a pivotal moment in the hotel's story. Originally built in 1926, the property has been reimagined into a luxury retreat with immersive experiences and thoughtfully designed spaces that honor the building's heritage while incorporating contemporary touches. The hotel is home to Long Beach's only luxury spa and rooftop bar and several signature food and beverage concepts, including the beloved Sky Room. In the lobby, guests can enjoy Nettuno's authentic Italian fare or live jazz with craft cocktails at Alter Ego, which pays homage to the hotel's roots as an escape for A-listers in the Roaring Twenties.
