Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, the award-winning oceanfront resort on Mexico's Pacific coast, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sumanth Das as Director of Food and Beverage. A seasoned global hospitality executive with a career spanning over two decades and nine countries, Das brings extensive leadership experience, deep culinary passion, and a full-circle connection to the Punta Mita property - where his Four Seasons journey first began nearly 20 years ago.
In his new role, Das will oversee all food and beverage operations across the resort's diverse culinary outlets, in-room dining, and event catering. He steps into the position at an exciting time for Punta Mita's food and beverage program, which includes the newly reimagined Aramara, a Pan-Asian restaurant offering immersive dining and beverage experiences; the vibrant and stylish Dos Catrinas, celebrating Mexican cuisine with a contemporary twist; Bahía by Chef Richard Sandoval, the beloved toes-in-the-sand grill; and the energetic MEZ bar, home to one of the largest collections of Mexican spirits in the region. Das will lead these teams in curating memorable culinary experiences that reflect the relaxed luxury and cultural richness of Riviera Nayarit.
Most recently, Das served as Director of Food and Beverage for The Hari and Holiday Inn Golden Mile in Hong Kong, where he led all food and beverage operations across both properties, earning accolades from Tatler Dining, the South China Morning Post, and IHG Hotels for standout culinary innovation, branding, and high-volume event execution. Prior, he held senior leadership roles with The Langham Hong Kong, MGM Cotai in Macau, and Pan Pacific Singapore, where he oversaw multi-million-dollar operations and collaborated with world-renowned chefs including Mauro Colagreco and Mitsuharu Tsumura.
A graduate of the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago and SRM Institute of Hotel Management in Chennai, India, Das began his Four Seasons journey at Punta Mita in 2004 as the Executive Sous Chef, later serving as Executive Chef in the Maldives, Seychelles, and Jakarta. His return to Mexico represents a personal and professional milestone; Punta Mita is where he not only launched his career with the brand, but also met his wife, Vanessa.
Outside of work, Das enjoys reconnecting with his yoga practice, strength training, and embracing the coastal lifestyle of Punta Mita, with plans to finally master surfing. A self-described global citizen, he brings with him the flavors and stories of a life well-traveled.
