Mike Bolick General Manager at Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa - NY, USA

Mike Bolick

Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa, the iconic oceanfront destination at the tip of Long Island, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Bolick as General Manager. A seasoned leader with more than a decade of luxury hospitality experience, Bolick has a proven track record of opening and operating award-winning properties, driving revenue growth, and building high-performing teams that deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Bolick most recently served as the opening General Manager of the Albert Hotel in Fredericksburg, Texas, where he oversaw the launch of the first full-service luxury hotel in the region. Partnering with key stakeholders, he developed four distinctive dining concepts, an elevated rooms program, and a full-service spa. Under his leadership, the property achieved top performance in its competitive set for ADR and RevPAR within its first two months of opening.

Previously, Bolick spent four years with Hotel Emma in San Antonio, where he advanced to Hotel Manager and played a critical role in maintaining the property's prestigious AAA Five Diamond Award status. During his tenure, Hotel Emma was consistently ranked the #1 hotel in San Antonio on TripAdvisor and placed among the Top 25 Hotels in the United States in the Traveler's Choice Awards for multiple years. Bolick spearheaded guest experience initiatives, revenue strategies, and leadership development programs that solidified the hotel's reputation as one of the country's premier luxury destinations.

Bolick began his career with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, where he spent six years in San Diego, Dallas, Houston, and Costa Rica, as well as on task force teams in other cities. Hospitality runs in his family—his mother was a longtime Director of Finance for The Ritz-Carlton—shaping a career that has taken him to standout destinations including Sedona, Maui, Carmel, San Diego, Costa Rica, San Antonio, and now Montauk.

Bolick will be relocating with his wife, Katy, a retired U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant, and their three children: Millie (9), Miles (5), and Mays (3). The family is known for their unique left-handed streak—Mike, Katy, Millie, and Miles are all left-handed, with only Mays as the exception. Born on National Left-Handers Day, Bolick is also a devoted San Francisco Giants fan, naming his son Mays after the legendary Willie Mays. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, coaching his kids' sports teams, and exploring new restaurants.

With his leadership, Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa looks forward to building on its legacy as a destination that captures the spirit of Montauk while offering world-class hospitality. Enhancing the guest experience even further, Gurney's has also partnered with Cadillac to offer complimentary house car service in a fleet of luxury vehicles, providing seamless transportation to downtown Montauk, the train station, and Jitney stop.
