Marriott International Inc. is pleased to announce the expanded role of Silvio Rosenberger, who will assume the position of Market Vice President for Maldives, effective 1 January 2026. In this expanded capacity, Silvio will oversee the company's growing portfolio and strategic operations across the Maldives, while continuing in his current role as Vice President of Operations, Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC), based in Singapore. Marriott currently operates 11 properties across 9 brands in the Maldives, with additional projects in the pipeline.
Silvio brings a distinguished career shaped by more than three decades with Marriott International, including over 20 years across Asia. He began his Marriott career in Frankfurt, as the Financial Controller at Courtyard by Marriott, and in 2003 made the move to Asia as the Director of Operations and Finance in Vietnam, building a deep foundation of operational excellence, brand expertise, and a strong passion for food & beverage. His leadership experience spans Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Vietnam, and South Korea, where he has held multiple General Manager and Managing Director appointments across several flagship hotels.
In his most recent role as Vice President of Operations, APEC, Silvio has played an integral part in driving regional performance, supporting multi-market operations, and strengthening Marriott's cross-brand execution. His track record, spanning luxury, premium, and lifestyle brands combined with his cultural fluency and results-driven approach, positions him exceptionally well to take on the Maldives market leadership role.
Throughout his career, Silvio has led some of Marriott's most dynamic and high-performing hotels in Asia including JW Marriott Hong Kong, JW Marriott Seoul, The Shanghai EDITION, W Shanghai - The Bund and JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square. Known for elevating both guest experience and business performance, he has also played a pivotal role in strengthening regional collaboration and developing future leaders through his work with the Marriott Business Council. His contributions have earned him multiple distinctions that reflect his operational excellence and strategic acumen across the region.
