Accor Dubai Deira and Dubai Gold District has appointed Mohamad Ali Shaikh as Cluster Operations Manager, marking an important step in the cluster's focus on elevating guest experience, operational efficiency and team development across six key properties in the area.
Shaikh brings close to 20 years of experience across the Accor network in the UAE. His expertise spans hotel operations, team management, guest experience and revenue strategy, giving him a strong understanding of how to guide busy multi brand properties.
Most recently, he served as Director of Operations at Novotel Bur Dubai, where he oversaw day to day hotel operations and helped strengthen coordination between departments. During his time there, he focused on optimising guest journeys and ensuring service consistency. Before that, he was Rooms Division Manager at Novotel and ibis Mall Avenue Dubai. He led several digital transformation projects including Opera Cloud migration. Under his leadership, the hotel achieved the Best Upselling Revenue performance in Accor's Northern Region for Q1 2024 with a 50 percent year on year increase. He also contributed to top Guest Satisfaction and Brand Audit scores, supported by TripAdvisor Traveller's Choice Awards in 2022 and 2023. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Pullman Deira City Centre, ibis Al Rigga and Novotel Suites and ibis Mall of the Emirates, building high performing teams and supporting major re openings.
Shaikh's leadership style is rooted in clear communication, collaboration and a hands on approach. He has managed two pre openings in India, played key roles in Dubai re openings and completed Accor's Future Hotel Managers Development Program in 2023 and 2024.
Known for being approachable and results driven, he brings practical experience in managing Front Office, Housekeeping and F&B teams while supporting commercial initiatives across properties.
In his new role, Shaikh will oversee operations across six hotels: Novotel Dubai Gold District, Mercure Dubai Gold District, Mercure Dubai Deira, ibis Styles Dubai Gold District, ibis Styles Dubai Deira and Aparthotel Adagio Dubai Deira.
His priorities include improving operational efficiency, strengthening guest satisfaction and supporting sustainability and digital transformation programmes across the cluster.
Accor's presence in Dubai Deira plays a strong strategic role in the group's UAE portfolio. The area includes more than 1,200 rooms across a mix of midscale, lifestyle and long stay brands. With the hotels positioned near Dubai Creek, the Gold and Spice Souks and Deira City Centre Mall, the cluster attracts business travellers, families and long stay guests seeking both convenience and cultural vibrancy.
Shaikh aims to build a supportive, engaged team culture where colleagues feel empowered to grow. His experience across multiple Accor brands and markets positions him well to guide the cluster through its next stage of development.
As Accor continues to strengthen its presence across the UAE, the Dubai Deira and Gold District cluster is set to play a key role in the group's regional growth. With Shaikh now overseeing operations, the cluster is preparing for a strong new chapter built on teamwork, consistency and guest centric leadership.
