A certified executive chef, Chef Sockrider brings Michelin-level experience and more than three decades of culinary innovation to the Memphis institution located in the heart of scenic Harbor Town on Mud Island.
Chef Sockrider, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park with an advanced diploma in Haute Cuisine from Dumas Pierre in Chicago, has led kitchens in high-profile restaurants, luxury hotels, and internationally recognized dining institutions for more than thirty years. His career includes repeated success in transforming culinary programs, pioneering new concepts, and building high-performing kitchen brigades in both fine-dining and large-scale environments.
During his first month leading the team at Paulette's, Chef Sockrider has orchestrated several unforgettable holiday experiences, including A Night with Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy on December 10, A Charles Dickens-Inspired Christmas Eve Dinner, Christmas Day Brunch, and an elegant New Year's Eve inspired by the legendary chef Auguste Escoffier. Chef Sockrider's career highlights include leading teams as executive chef at Top O' The Cove and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in California; and at Briquette Restaurant, Tujagues Restaurant, The Royal Sonesta, and The Bourbon Orleans Hotel in New Orleans. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the Institute of Culinary Arts in Omaha and enjoyed several years as a research and development chef, developing recipes for major grocery store brands. An award-winning culinary veteran, Chef Sockrider has been recognized on national television programs including Great Chefs Series, Travel Café, and Extra!, and in national publications such as New Orleans Magazine, the San Diego Union-Tribune, Zagat, and Louisiana Cookin.
