Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay is pleased to announce the appointment of Alejandro Lopez as its new Commercial Director, joining the team in November 2025 ahead of the hotel's re-opening next spring. Lopez brings over a decade of experience in luxury hospitality, having led commercial teams and shaped market strategies in both independent and internationally recognised hotels.

Lopez joins Nobu Ibiza Bay from Almanac Barcelona, where he served as Director of Sales and Marketing, leading a multidisciplinary commercial team and driving initiatives focused on positioning, suites performance and brand-led strategies in one of Spain's most competitive urban markets.

Prior to this, he held senior commercial roles at two Leading Hotels of the World properties. As Director of Sales and Marketing at Hotel Botánico & The Oriental Spa Garden (Tenerife) and Director of Sales at Cap Vermell Grand Hotel (Mallorca), he played a key role in developing commercial strategies, strengthening international market presence and enhancing partnerships across the luxury travel sector.

Earlier in his career, Lopez held commercial positions at El Palace Barcelona, The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi and The Westin Valencia, gaining valuable experience in international sales, MICE and key account management — forming the foundation for his progressive career in the luxury segment.

At Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, Lopez will lead the property's commercial strategy, bringing a refined understanding of luxury travellers, a strong network across key international markets and a collaborative approach to team development. He will focus on driving demand within Ibiza's competitive environment, strengthening brand positioning and maximising performance across all commercial touchpoints.

He identifies strong potential in the US market, which continues to show significant growth and rising interest in the Balearics, while the UK remains one of the hotel's most important source markets. Lopez also anticipates opportunities from Canada, the Middle East and Latin America — regions where awareness of Ibiza as a luxury destination continues to expand. He additionally sees room to further elevate the hotel's appeal among travellers seeking authenticity, lifestyle experiences and a sense of place — areas in which Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay is uniquely positioned to excel.
