InterContinental Boston is pleased to announce the appointment of Dana Miller to Director of Sales and Marketing. With an extraordinary career that spans over ten years at the award-winning waterfront hotel, Miller steps into this new role with an impressive history of driving record-setting results, and a passion for what the future of InterContinental Boston holds.
A dynamic hospitality professional with over 12 years of progressive leadership experience at luxury hotels, Miller earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University, before first beginning his career in hospitality in 2009 as a regional sales manager at Hilton Worldwide Regional Sales. From there, he joined the InterContinental Boston's group sales team, beginning what would be an incredible journey at one of the city's most beloved properties. Following two years as general manager at the Lighthouse Inn in West Dennis, MA, where he was responsible for a successful resort repositioning and driving 40 percent food and beverage revenue growth, Miller made his way back to InterContinental Boston in February, 2020 as the assistant director of group sales.
Since then, Miller has soared through the ranks of director of group sales and director of sales, where he has generated over $16.5 million in rooms and $15 million in banquet revenue annually, delivered millions in year over year growth revenue at the hotel, was solely responsible for key group account expansion, spearheaded InterContinental Boston's acceptance into American Express Hotel Collection, regularly represented the hotel in commercial leadership forums, led multi-person teams to outstanding success, and so much more. In this new role, Miller will oversee all aspects of sales, marketing, and commercial strategy, and will continue to elevate team performance with the overarching goal of driving long-term growth, and continuing InterContinental Boston's legacy as the best luxury hotel in Boston.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dana enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their two children. He coaches his son's baseball team, leads his son's Cub Scout den, and loves being outdoors. Mentoring and developing others-whether young athletes, Scouts, or colleagues-has been a consistent and meaningful part of his life.
