The Ritz-Carlton O'ahu, Turtle Bay has appointed Daniel Guevara Quintero as Executive Chef, strengthening the resort's culinary leadership and commitment to delivering world-class dining experiences on O'ahu's iconic North Shore. With this new appointment, Chef Guevara Quintero will oversee all culinary operations across the resort's dining outlets.
Quintero brings an extraordinary international pedigree shaped by experience in some of the world's most celebrated kitchens, including The Fat Duck in the United Kingdom, La Vie in Germany, and El Bulli, Mugaritz and Quique Dacosta in Spain. His career reflects a deep commitment to innovation, precision, and the artistry of fine dining.
Quintero previously served as Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, where he led a team of more than 150 chefs across six restaurants, maintaining the hotel's prestigious Forbes Five-Star distinction. During his tenure, he oversaw Michelin-starred venues including Tin Lung Heen and Tosca di Angelo. He later directed culinary operations for Raffles and Fairmont Hotels in Makati, Manila, properties recognized with Michelin Keys for excellence before his move to Oʽahu.
With roots in Spain and Latin America, Quintero's culinary philosophy is grounded in Mediterranean and Spanish traditions, elevated through global techniques and a strong emphasis on creativity, seasonality, and sustainability. His formal training includes a National Hospitality and Cooking Diploma from Escuela de Restauración y Hostelería de Barcelona, complemented by certifications in modern culinary techniques, pastry arts, and food safety.
Beyond the kitchen, Quintero enjoys hiking, cycling, and exploring new cities through their food cultures. He and his wife share a passion for wellness, fitness, and cooking together. A devoted soccer fan and sustainability advocate, he is a natural fit for the North Shore's commitment to environmental stewardship.
