Hāna-Maui Resort, A Destination by Hyatt, announces the appointment of Alexander DeChagas as general manager. In this role, DeChagas oversees the day-to-day operations of the resort, suites, bungalows and family residences, including supervising in-house staff, implementing marketing strategies and beyond.
DeChagas brings two decades of Hyatt hospitality experience to his role, having previously served as director of rooms for Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, director of operations at Hyatt Centric Times Square New York, and director of rooms at The Bellevue Hotel - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, among other notable positions. DeChagas most recently served as general manager of the historic Hotel Kansas City - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, where he brought the brand vision to life through elevated lifestyle programming, strengthened market presence, and increased profitability while upholding exceptional guest service. DeChagas' esteemed background underscores his deep familiarity with Hyatt's hallmark standards of quality across every stage of the guest journey. He received his bachelor's degree in hotel management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
