A dynamic hospitality leader with more than 19 years of international experience,Puizina brings a strategic, globally informed approach to sales, marketing, and brand development at a pivotal moment for the hotel.
In her new role,Puizina will oversee all sales and marketing initiatives for the 398-room hotel, guiding revenue strategy, brand positioning, and market visibility as Sofitel New York debuts a full-scale renovation of its guest rooms and suites and emerges as the future U.S. flagship for the Sofitel brand. Her responsibilities span rooms, food and beverage, meetings and events, and wellness, with a focus on elevating the hotel's desirability and performance across all segments.
Puizina brings a combination of academic rigor and global hospitality experience. Born in Croatia, she holds a Master's Degree in Communication Science with a specialization in Mass Communication from La Sapienza University of Rome. Her career has taken her across five countries including Italy, Uganda, the Dominican Republic, and the United States, providing her with a deep understanding of global hospitality trends, multicultural markets, and luxury consumer behavior. She has worked with hospitality brands such as Virgin Hotels, Meliá, Rocco Forte and more. For the past 11 years, she has been based in New York City, where she has builta strong reputation for driving revenue growth, cultivating strategic partnerships, and leading high-performing teams.
Her professional background spans meeting planning, global sales strategy, hospitality management, and customer experience, supported by fluency in Croatian, Italian, English, and Spanish.Puizina is also a recognized industry leader and advocate, currently serving as Vice President of Membership for SITE Northeast and previously as President in 2022. Her long-standing involvement with SITE since 2015 has played a significant role in her professional growth and industry influence. In 2024, she was named a Top 5 Sales Professional by HSMAI New York City.
Puizina's appointment comes on the heels of Sofitel New York's late November relaunch, following a comprehensive design revitalization. As the hotel steps confidently into its next chapter, her leadership will play a central role in shaping its commercial strategy, creative vision, and continued evolution as a flagship destination in Midtown Manhattan.
