This strategic hire reinforces Dharana at Shillim's mission to provide transformative, evidence-based, and holistic wellness experiences for its guests.
Following its relaunch as a fully independent retreat in June 2024, Dharana at Shillim continues to build a world-class leadership team to guide operations and wellness programmes to global standards. The retreat's excellence has been widely recognised, having been featured in The Sunday Times inaugural World's Best 50 Spas list, as well as the Condé Nast Traveller Spa Guides for 2025 and 2026, and Tatler Spa Guide 2025.
Poonam brings over 25 years of leadership experience in luxury hospitality and wellness, having held senior roles across globally recognised brands, including CGH Earth Experience Hotels, Six Senses Vana, The Oberoi Group, ITC Fortune Hotel, and Burj Al Arab.
In her previous role as General Manager at CGH Earth Experience Hotels, Brunton Boatyard, Kochi, Poonam achieved record revenues for both rooms and F&B while maintaining an exceptional online reputation score above 89. At Six Senses Vana, Dehradun, she successfully opened and operationalised India's first USGBC-certified LEED-platinum wellness retreat, helping establish Vana as a globally recognised wellness destination
Poonam holds a Master's in Psychology, a Master's in Business Administration (HR), and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development (OCLD). In her role at Dharana at Shillim, she will oversee operations, optimise guest experience, drive revenue growth, and ensure a culture of excellence across people, product, and service delivery.
