Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is pleased to announce the appointment of Cole Millen as its new General Manager.
Born in Edmonton and raised in British Columbia, Millen brings a deep connection to the West Coast and a strong foundation in hospitality leadership. He began his career in Victoria after enrolling in the Hotel and Restaurant Administration program at Camosun College, where an early internship at the Coast Harbourside Hotel and Marina confirmed his passion for hotel operations and guest service. He later earned an MBA in Executive Management from Royal Roads University.
Millen has built a distinguished career with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, holding leadership roles at several of Canada's most historic properties. Most recently, as General Manager of Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, he led a thoughtful service-elevation initiative that earned the property its first MICHELIN One Key and first Condé Nast Readers' Choice Award. Previously, as Director of Operations at the Fairmont Empress, Millen played a lead role in the planning and execution of a three-year, $60 million hotel renovation. Known for his people-first leadership approach, he is deeply committed to creating meaningful guest experiences and fostering strong, engaged teams. He is particularly passionate about the heritage, architecture, and legacy that define Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
Mentorship and talent development have been among Millen's most rewarding professional pursuits, as he takes pride in supporting team members as they grow within Fairmont and the broader hospitality industry.
Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, cycling, camping, and golfing - fully embracing the West Coast lifestyle he is proud to call home once again.
